People to the south said "oh you are half way up". People to the north said "oh you are halfway down". We didn't to be the half way house!! Hence:

Earlier Today:
We left the house at 7am and went to a the farmers market however, I had the weeks mixed up and it wasn't on. We drove back up towards home to the market that is on 2nd and 4th week Saturdays This market wasn't huge (see below) however everything was fresh and wonderful.
We spent only $30. With this purchased: mescalin lettuce mini roma tomatos carrots olives bread rolls yoghurt for breakfast (today) sugar loaf cabbage -which we both love mushrooms broccoli fresh pasta mandarins apples and snow peas
(example only) There was even free parking!
Everything was very fresh and yummy looking, and proving to be tasty. We will go next week and try the 1st/3rd Saturdays Farmers Market.
We found our way to a garage sale in the area and bought a small outdoor table -- complete with umbrella hole - for just $5 this is up inside with bright yellow towell over it. Sure is helpful.

The Orthopod and Le Chat Noir are about to embark on their journey home.
Caught up on my Facebook 'paperwork' this evening.
I managed to out the clothes line up today. Wasn't thrilled to find a dead bird near it.
I checked out the local ALDI store today - bit shambley for me... but good bargains in the non-food department.

I have decided to focus on a Blog or site that I read, or use as a resource.
But first a definition: on
Wonderworking (as listed CROSSWORDCLUESOLVER) - performing or able to perform wonders or miracles
- Doing wonders or surprising things.
Marg writes: 'My adventures through time and place, all without leaving the comfort of home. Reading is what I do to relax and escape. I enjoy lots of genres but mainly Historical Fiction, Romance, Cozy Mysteries and Young Adult fiction.' Marg's Blog is always an interesting read. Her reviews are great and you can feel free to comment, in agreement or not. But keep it nice. She has a world wide list of visitors and posts re competitions and interesting witty internet treats she comes across. I have almost met Marg 5 times. click on the image to get to Marg's Blog...see also in the Index on the right

The new neighbourhood. (ok so I need to work on enlarging images)
This is tonight's movie.
The fridge didn't arrive. Tomorrow they say...
I now know how to open the locked windows. The a/c unit remote is now working. The mock orange bush has been trimmed and many weeds removed.
The bin was in fact emptied...so I bought it back through the gate.
I saw some cute kittens but none were ginger so not 100% cute. But close.
The packers have arrived at the Orthopod's home. The land line is off - reality is setting in.

....I rushed out with the wheelie bin at 6am. I haven't checked it yet.
I mastered the art of the electrical air pump today, so my borrowed bed is feeling quite a bit more comfortable.
Found a wonderful place that makes the style of white furniture I want. Also an Aussie hand made Adarondack chair outlet.

There has been a lot discussion, and analysis of the 2o/20 Summit on the radio and internet today - I guess in the newspapers and on television also. Discussion is good - it engages the community and is often the genisis of ownership. The tree the bird was in looks a bit like this.
The Extras on the DVD I watched were great. I was at a supermarket - which it seems is close to a high school - and was alarmed at the number of students purchasing 'food' before school. As I watched a young boy buy a packet of chips, and 2 others, a little older, purchase a bottle of 'V' each, I wondered how severe the discipline problems might be for their teachers during the hours before the caffeine, salt, colourings, flavourings and preservatives wore off.
As I began to drive off I noticed a man - perhaps the store manager, or teacher? - talking quite sternly to a group of boys and girls outside the supermarket. It was 8:45am and the students would be struggling to get to school on time.

I had my breakfast outside in the morning sunshine with a gentle breeze and delighted in the opportunity to watch some kind of long beaked bird hang upside down and take the nectar from what looked to me like pale yellow bottle brush flowers. Whilst I enjoy flowers and birds I am unable to identify many of them.

Later in the day I tested all the a/c units and found one that didn't work. I tried all the remotes and swapped the batteries around and yes they were in the right way up. To no avail, so this to has gone on The List for the inspection report. It is thankfully a rather short list. The 30 stains on the living room carpet are on the list; most of these stains are inexplicably orange.
Tonight I have watched Cary Grant and Grace Kelly in 'To Catch A Thief'. This was Miss Kelly's last movie before she married and became Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco. Ironically, the movie is set in the south of France, and amongst the rich and famous, all of which she would preside over from the Pink Palace, within the tiny principality of Monaco.
Directed By Alfred Hitchcock, it was fun as usual to spot him in the film - and I concentrated so hard on that I forgot to listen for the mention of Archie Leech - Cary Grant's real name, that he works into many of his films.

The 20/20 Summit is over and it all looks rather positive in revealing us to be a nation and people with ideas, and open to ideas.
A basic sum up is worth reading and there seem to have been some good ideas proposed re health issues. I am pleased to see the smoking ban receiving strong coverage - my mother recently died from the effects of societies ignorant years - or decades, when smoking was considered a good thing. THE WORLDS
The M1 at the Brisbane City end
Organised myself Saturday night and was on the road before 8am Sunday - made it to the city in about 35 minutes. Of course there isn't much traffic then... coming home was fairly quiet also thought I thought might have been busy from traffic for Dreamworld and Movieworld - not much call for WetnWild at the moment, that pretty much describes the weather. Had lovely time with family and sweet hugs from DGD#1 & DGD #2 Also geat to catch up with The Mentor - and his mum! Was nice to get home and to have the auto garage door - up it goes and in I drove. Had the soup my daughter had made to mum's recipe and some warm crusty rolls with cheese. Was just deciding if I ought to pump up my air bed again and zonk, sleep overcame me. Labels: Sunday |
