Everyone turned up today. All the unpacking was finished, including mum's things.
Handyman tasks were performed by our handymen. Everything was organised and put away. There was talking and laughter. Cooking and eating.
The TNG #1,2,3,5 & 6 had fun together. 11 of us had a great lunch. Le Chat Noir was terrified.
Today was a Public Holiday: Queens Birthday (but not really her birthdate)
The Annual Honours List was released.

My heart goes out to China and it's people as they take 3 days for the Official Mourning of their heartbreaking loss. Especially to Miss Jazz and all her friends, who are so far away, but feel the sorrow just as keenly.
Ok, so this isn't the freeway near me, (but neither is the baby below mine, or me, nor is the boy J; so I guess it's representations tonight.) However the freeway near me was bought to a standstill after an accident which involved loss of life. It seems to happen every few days. Very sad.

I'm having a chat with a grief counselor tomorrow to see if I can unfreeze my memory.... or get it back from where ever it went when mum died. Long term seems ok...but I have a long list of things I can't find...now where is that list?

This could be the 12 year old boy that fixed our STB for me - it's not but I forgot to take a picture! Well done J. We sure appreciate you.

I have added several Blogs to the Blog roll list over on the right. Now I find many of them don't work, but frankly I am worn out and nearly asleep - therefor the adjustments will be made tomorrow. Labels: Monday |

Been tickling the template tonight. Truly Trickey.
Thanks to my personal GPS - once again I was lost amongst freeways, motorways and highways.
Rewatched ' To Catch a Thief' " a great movie
I was here (see 3 images below) yesterday - it was beautiful, though a long way.

....I rushed out with the wheelie bin at 6am. I haven't checked it yet.
I mastered the art of the electrical air pump today, so my borrowed bed is feeling quite a bit more comfortable.
Found a wonderful place that makes the style of white furniture I want. Also an Aussie hand made Adarondack chair outlet.

There has been a lot discussion, and analysis of the 2o/20 Summit on the radio and internet today - I guess in the newspapers and on television also. Discussion is good - it engages the community and is often the genisis of ownership.
The tree the bird was in looks a bit like this.
The Extras on the DVD I watched were great. I was at a supermarket - which it seems is close to a high school - and was alarmed at the number of students purchasing 'food' before school. As I watched a young boy buy a packet of chips, and 2 others, a little older, purchase a bottle of 'V' each, I wondered how severe the discipline problems might be for their teachers during the hours before the caffeine, salt, colourings, flavourings and preservatives wore off.
As I began to drive off I noticed a man - perhaps the store manager, or teacher? - talking quite sternly to a group of boys and girls outside the supermarket. It was 8:45am and the students would be struggling to get to school on time.

I had my breakfast outside in the morning sunshine with a gentle breeze and delighted in the opportunity to watch some kind of long beaked bird hang upside down and take the nectar from what looked to me like pale yellow bottle brush flowers. Whilst I enjoy flowers and birds I am unable to identify many of them.

Later in the day I tested all the a/c units and found one that didn't work. I tried all the remotes and swapped the batteries around and yes they were in the right way up. To no avail, so this to has gone on The List for the inspection report. It is thankfully a rather short list. The 30 stains on the living room carpet are on the list; most of these stains are inexplicably orange.
Tonight I have watched Cary Grant and Grace Kelly in 'To Catch A Thief'. This was Miss Kelly's last movie before she married and became Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco. Ironically, the movie is set in the south of France, and amongst the rich and famous, all of which she would preside over from the Pink Palace, within the tiny principality of Monaco.
Directed By Alfred Hitchcock, it was fun as usual to spot him in the film - and I concentrated so hard on that I forgot to listen for the mention of Archie Leech - Cary Grant's real name, that he works into many of his films.

Flowers I received - how thoughtful and kind - by mum's Harry Potter's Hedwig
No mum to call or take care of. I went to ring her last night then remembered.

Celtic Blessing May the road rise up to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine down upon your face. And the rain fall soft upon your fields Until we meet again May God hold you in the hollow of his hand and a little Irish humour for the day
Dermot McCann opened the morning newspaper and was dumbfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly 'phoned his best friend Reilly. 'Did ye see the paper?' asked Dermot. 'They say I died.' 'Yes, I saw it.' replied Reilly. 'Where are ye callin' from?' * * * * *
House hunting for The Orthopod and Le Chat is underway... while out west the packing and arrangements have begun.

We watched this movie tonight.

Out here at Saltbush Castle the weather has been extremely hot. Sadly the workmen have not completed the pool but it's good to dream of what will be.
