colour me COLD! |
Sunday, April 6, 2008 |
I awoke with a hearty asthma cough and climbed out of bed to use my puffer. The temperature felt like about 11 or so...due to the fact that my mobile phone needs a recharge it is off, I had to turn my computer on (to see the time. )I don't wear a watch - gave that up some 16 years ago when I moved north. I discovered the temperature was in fact 9.5 which was a bit of a shock but explained the asthma attack and threatening migraine.
My body does not like the cold cold, especially cold cold nights. I took a few moments to flick through the news headlines, those of my readers who know me personally may also be aware I not only like to know how hot how cold and what will it be tomorrow, I also like to know what's happening in the world, and if at all possible why: the facts I mean, I will form my own opinion - or occasionally announce I have not formed an opinion.
As I flicked through the headlines at 5:44am I was shocked to discover that my long cold night was not in fact, almost over, but rather has an extra hour to go.
Daylight saving ended at 3am. Thus instead of being almost dawn it was not a cold dark 4:44am!
I dealt with the hacking cold pulled on the hood of my fluffy USA $5 bargan windcheater that I kept at mum's, tuned the electric blanket up to 3 and settled down to watch Audrey Hepburn in 'Paris when it sizzles'. I noticed, with interest that Givenchy not only designed her clothes but also her perfume....nice little marketing strategy well before it's time.
It is now 5:46 am and it has taken 1 hour and 2 minutes to progress from 5:44. I have turned the electric blanket up to 3, thus I feel gently baked. And I am nodding off so I will end for now.

H.R.H. is saddened to know that one of her favourite guests is suffering so. The King and I are sorry that you are leaving us today to continue your 'walkabout'. The Princess will miss you heaps. Let's hope the next stop is somewhat warmer.
