Quote of the Day.'The advice of Jonathan Alpert, a Manhattan-based psychotherapist. "If you view travel as an adventure and a challenge -- including the long lines and delays -- then it can be fun," he says. His advice is to build in enough time to experience this adventure -- a cushion of time, "just in case there are delays." Avoid tight schedules and deadlines. After all, you're on vacation.
Comings & Goings
The MI Ts have gone on a road trip to Colorado. The G Family will be back downunder soon. Jarrah Kim arived safely. I'm heading North soon
Happy Birthday: AUGUST
GDAD: 9th. Me:8 on 10th (long story)thanks Bruce
Things I have learnt: I am not great in the cold. Chocolate is lethal for me. Pedicures/Manicures are really essentials! Ditto good haircuts.
Today the funeral services were held for my mother. All was as she wanted, and would have appreciated. Relatives and friends came from overseas and interstate.
All the arrangements are made and everything in order for mum's funeral tomorrow. There has been so much to do even though mum was very organised and had recorded her personal wishes and choices. We have managed to inform everyone, except one couple who seem to be away on holiday - this is rather sad as they are dear friends. Interstate and overseas guests are starting to arrive. All I need to do is get a good nights sleep and prepare the comments I am going to make.
Red sails in the sunset, way out on the sea Oh, carry my loved one home safely to me She sailed at the dawning, all day I've been blue Red sails in the sunset, I'm trusting in you Swift wings you must borrow Make straight for the shore And she goes sailing no more Red sails in the sunset, way out on the sea Oh, carry my loved one home safely to me Swift wings you must borrow Make straight for the shore And she goes sailing no more Red sails in the sunset Way out on the sea (ooh-wee-ooh, wee-ooh) Oh, carry my loved oneHome safely to me
I entered the 'Only a mother would take this photo' competition' over on 'My Semblance of Sanity' Blog the photo is on my OLD BLOG clickHERE SCROLL down 4 posts....yes go past the lamingtons....
My vacuuming skills were challenged this evening. Stringent measures appear to be in place at Saltbush Castle. HRH has the sniffles and so everyone is pitching in. Tomorrow we Blog for the Castle and make the photostory Reflection CD for mum's funeral on Friday. Also we have an evening trip to the airport to collect the Orthopod coming in from Perth.
There seem to be staffing problems here at the Castle and I was reduced to being this evenings 'dishy' - and after roast lamb there was a fair bit of work.

More arrangements and decisions were made today, it seems we have almost everything in place now. Finding the music mum wants was a stretch however, we have it now.

The weather has turned wintery, and raining and cold.Tonight is to be just 10 degrees and tomorrow night just 9. I am due to head north in a couple of weeks and it would seem it really is time to go.My medications make the cold a huge challenge for me.
Farewell breakfast at Saltbush Castle - wonderful and cooked so graciously by HRH herself!! The Staff, we were led to believe, is given the Easter Holiday off, and the Royal Family all pitch in to experience real life. HRH excelled with timely co ordination, and produced field mushrooms, crispy bacon, tomato and poached eggs on toast. Orange Juice served with it. The King Consort then headed south to 'catch' the fish required for a special meal today, as Her Maj. the King Consort's mama, will journey from Chez Waverly to the Castle for a brief sojourn. The Princess will possibly retire to her own tower.
No doubt much chocolate will be eaten. "No doubt" as the Colonel said to Elenore in Jane Austen's delightful work Sense and Sensibilty.
A final comment must be made. well perhaps two? How thoughtful and kind of the KC to interrupt his fishing expedition to call and say au revoir to me... and HRH and the Princess: dancing with you in the car park was a great moment. (mum said there ought to be more of it!!)
Renee over at'Go East' - a Blog well worth visiting and reading, as Renee shares activities and an insights into her family life. - had thisyouTubeclip and when I saw it I was amazed.
Now I finally understand RSS. I had not been able to find anyone to explain it to me. I had heard of readers but didn't know what they were for.
I am using Google reader as I am using iGoogle as my home page which allows me to have my email and reader displayed, as well as the weather here there and everywhere. I also have international clocks on the go, and world webcam...and a few other things...its a great homepage with everything at an easy glance and one click away.
I discovered that the template I had made was not compatible with many widgets etc that I used to have on my old blog; therefore I had to change the template.
I have been all day searching for what I want, and this is not it. However it has 3 columns and its not to bad I can add the colour I want as I go along -

After a really chilly - for me, remember I am from the sunshine state, no not Florida but rather Queen, sland - night the day was pleasant enough with warm sunshine. However the cold air over night triggered my asthma.
The Temperature has, in typical Melbourne fashion, plummeted. Monday night was the hottest March night on record. Then mid morning Temperature dropt 6 degrees in 15 minutes. It then steadily dropt further through the day and into the night....
May the road rise up to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine down upon your face. And the rain fall soft upon your fields Until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand
and a little Irish humour for the day
Dermot McCann opened the morning newspaper and was dumbfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly 'phoned his best friend Reilly.
'Did ye see the paper?' asked Dermot. 'They say I died.' 'Yes, I saw it.' replied Reilly. 'Where are ye callin' from?'

Out here at Saltbush Castle the weather has been extremely hot. Sadly the workmen have not completed the pool but it's good to dream of what will be.

The Princess attended a special screening of 'Step Up 2' and described it as the best movie ever!!! High praise indeed....
"the Greatest thing I have ever seen" she exlaimed.
The Yacht Broker bought some groceries around, his wife the Teacher was out with 'the girls' (good on her) and their munchkins were at a Birthday Party. I slept all morning and mum slept all afternoon. She seems better - yesterday and today.I leave for Saltbush Castle tomorrow afternoon but will return for Easter. I look forward to seeing Gigi again.
We watched this movie this afternoon, though Channel 9 did a hack job editing it to fit in their time slot.
I have had a great time designing this blog for myself and setting it up,though it remains a work in progress.
