Quote of the Day.'The advice of Jonathan Alpert, a Manhattan-based psychotherapist. "If you view travel as an adventure and a challenge -- including the long lines and delays -- then it can be fun," he says. His advice is to build in enough time to experience this adventure -- a cushion of time, "just in case there are delays." Avoid tight schedules and deadlines. After all, you're on vacation.

Things I have learnt: I am not great in the cold. Chocolate is lethal for me. Pedicures/Manicures are really essentials! Ditto good haircuts.
What a great idea if you are building a new bathroom or kitchen or house like A-M is....
Tom Baker over in the Hardware Aisle writes 'At least once a year, the sink drain in my bathroom develops a severe case of the slows. There's no mystery why this happens. My wife and two daughters use the sink and and the surrounding area daily for all their grooming needs, and that means the sink drain is constantly...more
My apologies for the quality...I was using my phone video camera...I will be getting a good camera soon. This was more of an experiment really...and is ok for that I think. The 1st is inside the DJs food Hall..and the 2nd to show would be Melbourne Tourists to be aware that in the Bourke St Mall Trams roll down the middle! Pedestrians beware!
A Younger Mick: less widom, less money but slightly better looking. But hey now worth some 225 million pounds ($466.7 million) who needs looks...
AGEING baby boomers who took heart from Greg Norman's performance in the British Open will have further reason to celebrate tomorrow. Michael Philip Jagger, the slim-hipped, full-lipped frontman of the Rolling Stones, will celebrate his 65th birthday and officially become an old age pensioner. At an age when most Poms are pottering, Jagger is keeping company with a woman 25 years his junior -- stylist L'Wren Scott -- still performing and branching out into film production. Jagger has been married twice, to Bianca Jagger and Jerry Hall, and has seven children and three grandchildren Herald Sun
TNG #2 has a set of these and so I was delighted to see more... I took this photograoh of the window display, just using my phone camera I was delighted - to say the least - to find that serendipitoulsy I had captured the refelction of the marble floor tiles.
I couldn't resist the blue set...they are all so beautiful. Im popped inside and asked the girl for a business card, and told her why. So Babushka Girl happy Blog-Reading...leave me a comment if you like, below right or in the C Box top left of the blog page.
BERLIN: Barack Obama's popularity extends far beyond Iowa and into the heart of Central Europe. Germany has swiftly developed a serious case of Obama-mania.
Obama's high standing goes beyond his opposition to the Iraq War, which has always been unpopular here. The sudden crush is intimately bound up with the near constant comparisons here between the young senator from Illinois and President John F. Kennedy - still admired in Germany and particularly in Berlin - which have stuck fast as his identity in the German press
The Berliner Morgenpost over the weekend ran with the headline, "The New Kennedy...more
I visited the Melbourne CBD David Jones Store today. I took a special trip to check out the Food Hall. We used to love going there....
One of the delights in the Bakery...
Beautiful flowers in the floral corner...In the food hall you can really buy everything you need for a meal. Just start at the fruit (at the base of the entry escalator) and walk on and all the way around...then you will have everything for every course.
Even though it is mid winter and feeling like it, apparently Spring is not so far away.....these flowers had a wonderful fragrence.
A world of cheeses....for my lunch, I ate King Island Double Brie on a peice of multigrain bagette I bought from a bakery
the tram was coming so I didnt get to steady the camera very well. This Cakeshop has been here for years and years, though it has changed hands and names many times. It always seems busy... perhaps too busy for the owners so they move on?
Just one of the many Delis at the market.....so many choices and food from all over the world. The area around this market is very multi national, so there are many influences evident in the market, and surrounding shops.
Yesterday, that is Wednesday to me, it was really cold. A grey shivering 10 degrees here in Melbourne. I ventured out to the postoffice, and was so cold on the way back I popped into a lovely Cafe. I had a fun hot chocolate...and warm rasin toast. I loved the clock on the wall. Check it out below. Once warmed up, I ventured on home..
...they even made the toast 'well done; for me. Very friendly staff.
A cosy atmosphere...with no chance of being late to your next appointment.
